This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My second graders are inquisitive, full of energy and they have an eagerness to learn that is unmatched! It is a pleasure to walk into my classroom everyday because I know my students will give their all to achieve their goals. Their excitement for learning keeps me going each and everyday.
I have the great pleasure of having a very diverse population of students in my classroom, each very unique in learning style and academic capabilities.
New York City is home to a diverse culture and a wide range of socioeconomic statuses which are seen throughout the city and in each one of the classrooms. We have a high percentage of students who receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
Using a document camera will allow my students to stay engaged throughout the entire lesson, project videos from the Internet, read articles, or to view pages from our books. They will be able to follow along without getting lost, and be able to show others how they came up with a certain answer, whether its math, reading or writing.
This item will help them grow in their knowledge and enjoyment of learning for years to come!
In today's world, students must learn to articulate their thought process and share that process with others. This tool will help us to not only tell our process but also show it! It's very helpful for visual learners for explaining diagrams or explaining steps. A document camera will actually allow all my students to see up close details which they would otherwise not see from a distance.
A document camera is a desperately needed piece of technology that no classroom should be with out!
