This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I plan to use boxing as a way for students to gain confidence, discipline, and meet CA State Standards (combatives) so I need boxing gloves and curved focus mitts. Additionally, students will gain self defense skills that they can utilize in potentially life-saving scenarios. Boxing is culturally relevant in Latin American communities. It is both a source of pride and representation in our communities and I would like to introduce it to many students. Not only is it the duty of schools to empower young people through literacy and numeracy, but also physically. Help me empower our kids through sport.
