My Project

I have the pleasure of teaching students from around the globe. They come from Napal, Afganistan, Jordan, several Hispanic countries, and Africa. These students come from diverse backgrounds and although they are very different the one thing in common is that they are all learning English as a Second Language.

My goal with this project is to create an ELL lounge, a safe space where students can learn to grow their language skills.

I have students who are refugees and lack a sense of security. I would like to provide students with a cozy space to learn English as a Second Language with chairs, a sofa, table, and more. This space will be a place they can count on to be calm and encouraging. It will be a place to take risks and a place to laugh when mistakes are made.
