My Project
This project is designed to support immigrant, refugee, and English language learners (ELL) by creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where students feel welcomed and valued. Many of these students face unique challenges, including cultural adjustments and language barriers. To help ease their transition and promote engagement in the classroom, this project will provide sensory-based resources such as fidget spinners, pop its, and slime, along with practical items like bags and snacks. These tools will help students manage stress and anxiety, allowing them to focus more effectively on their learning and social interactions.
These items will ensure that my students’ basic needs are met so as to contribute to a sense of security and belonging.
The fidget toys and sensory materials will serve as calming aids that promote concentration, especially for students who may feel overwhelmed in a new environment. By fostering an atmosphere of care and support, this project aims to boost students’ confidence, enhance their ability to participate in class, and contribute to their overall well-being, ultimately supporting their academic and social development.
