Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will empower student voice through culturally relevant reading, storytelling, and poetry.
Rooted in culturally relevant literature, daily reading and writing, and authentic creative expression, these books will center student voice while building foundational literacy skills.
Students will read high-interest novels, graphic texts, poems, and real-world stories — and they also experience and analyze music, visual art, and spoken word as powerful forms of language. Through these multimodal texts, students deepen their fluency, strengthen their comprehension, and learn how to tell their own stories with confidence and clarity.
These books will build confidence in students in both their reading ability and who they are in the world.
