My Project

Gym floor mats, kettlebells, and plyo boxes are essential tools that can significantly enhance physical education classes by providing students with the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of exercises that promote strength, agility, and coordination.

Gym floor mats offer a safe and comfortable surface for floor exercises, stretching, and bodyweight workouts, reducing the risk of injury while allowing students to perform movements with proper form.

Kettlebells are excellent for strength training, helping students build muscle, improve endurance, and develop functional fitness that can benefit them in everyday activities and sports. Plyo boxes support explosive power development through jump training, which enhances lower body strength, agility, and balance.Together, these tools create a dynamic, well-rounded training environment that fosters overall physical fitness and helps students reach their full potential.

The goal of using gym floor mats, kettlebells, and plyo boxes in physical education is to improve students' strength, flexibility, balance, and explosive power while promoting safe, effective training that supports overall physical fitness and athletic development. These tools help students build a solid foundation of functional fitness that enhances their performance in sports and everyday activities.

My PE students are truly special because they embody resilience, determination, and a strong sense of community despite facing challenges outside the classroom. Living in a rural Tennessee county, many come from families with limited resources, relying on free and reduced lunch, and no access to gyms or extracurricular sports programs. Yet, these students bring an unwavering grit and enthusiasm every day. They are not afraid to work hard, push through obstacles, and take on new challenges, whether it’s mastering a new skill or supporting a teammate. Their perseverance and positive attitude make them stand out, and they have an incredible drive to be the best they can be, no matter the circumstances.
