This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach at a low-income school district where many of my students have had to overcome many obstacles. Aside from the challenges they have faced, my students still come to school eager to learn. Although this school year is slowly coming to an end, that doesn't mean our learning has to! During my first year of teaching I remember being introduced to Elephant and Piggie through the book "Waiting Is Not Easy!". Since my students loved the book just as much as I did, I would play the audio version for the other books. This year, I am requesting the complete collection of the Elephant and Piggie books to read to my current students. The books will be used during our reading time when my kiddos join me on our reading rug.
