This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items that I am requesting are going to make a huge difference in my counseling program. This is my first year working with elementary students, my previous experience is with middle school students, so I do not have resources for the younger students. The books all relate to different topics and skills that I will be working with the students on to include topics such as grief, self control, anger management, bullying, etc. The books will be used for classroom lessons as well as in individual and small group counseling sessions. In addition to the the books the majority of the other items are fidget toys that will be used during counseling sessions in order to help students to regulate their emotions and to help them focus, or just as something for them to play with as we talk.
