This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach in a suburb of Los Angeles with a wonderful group of students. We are a diverse group with many different abilities and needs. I love being their teacher and look forward to coming to school every day (even on Zoom) to see and teach them.
These kids have been amazing to have back at school.
My students finished last year online, and they are starting this year in person. They are so happy to be back in the classroom.
I can see that they are a wonderful group of kids and they deserve to have an excellent year.
My Project
Help me create a great makerspace for my students! In my classroom, I have very bright kids who are often creating and imagining tons of new ideas and items.
I want to provide them with materials to help them engage with the engineering process.
I have many students who are fast finishers and are left with only a few options of what they can do when they are finished. I want them to have the opportunity to create a plan and follow through to create what they were imagining.
The popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, tape, and glue will all be used by students to make their ideas become creations. The organizer boxes will help with storage and the LEGOs and K'nex will be used for creations that can be taken apart and used again. Your donations will help my students receive many great materials.
