My Students

"All that is valuable in human society depends upon the opportunity for development accorded the individual," declared Albert Einstein. Our school opened two years ago in a rural area with a large military population. We are lacking any hands-on science materials for science exploration and inquiry.

We have a diverse population of students.

Many of our students lack resources and opportunities in their homes to explore the world around them. We are a Title I school, where the majority of our students are considered economically disadvantaged. A Science Lab is crucial to satisfying a child's natural curiosity. It allows all of our students, K-5, the opportunities to question, wonder, problem-solve, create, and ultimately achieve scientific literacy. Our students love technology and have many dreams for the future, that only hands-on experiences can enhance.

My Project

"Elementary Einsteins" is one key element in establishing a K-5 Science Lab. The materials will be open to all grade levels. Exploring electricity, magnetism, and principals of sound could lead to careers in engineering, environmentalism, and energy-related fields. Imagine graduating students who are able to solve problems, such as discovering clean energy sources! Our state's goal is that all young scientists design and solve problems, as well as analyze and evaluate their own solutions. What better way to accomplish these goals than by providing students with authentic learning activities that foster problem-solving and critical thinking. Albert Einstein once said, "Any man who reads too much and uses his own brain too little falls into lazy habits of thinking." While students may read about experiences daily, it is not until they are given the opportunity to create them on their own that the real learning can begin!

Your generosity will allow us to enrich the lives of our students and will be more than a monetary investment.

You are investing in a future work force who is able to think independently and critically. A person who is able to foresee and prevent problems is a true asset to any company!
