The students are developing English Language skills and are from diverse backgrounds. Most have recently come to this country from another country and are working on learning the language. All are motivated and eager to assimilate into the culture and strive for success.
Our school is located in Brooklyn.
We are a 6-12 school and we do not screen students. We invite all students with open arms and we work hard to provide all students with the resources they need.
My Project
We have some new students who are working very hard to learn English in addition to everything else that comes with moving to a new country. We are looking to purchase some pocket translators so that the students can work on their ability to understand the coursework. Many of these students will be sitting for a state exam in order to earn their diplomas, so being able to understand the content is imperative to their success! These students have access to dictionaries, but it can be difficult for them to keep up with the work using only this resource. A pocket translator will allow students to be able to keep up with their assignments!
