My students need electronic balances for almost all experiments in chemistry and biology, without them, we are often not able to do proper inquiry in science!

My Students

My students live in a transitional neighborhood which makes them unique. They walk the line of two American stories, one filled with modern homes and trendy restaurants and the other with homes in need of repair and limited resources. Lots and lots of love and hope abound in each.

Our school resides in an rather large, urban district.

While the neighborhoods are trending in economic gain, our schools still suffer from suburbia migration and the education deficit that that the movement left in the wake. My science students are so excited to learn about the world. They have an admirable sense of justice and deserve all the learning resources available to other American kids.

My Project

We need science equipment that is up to date so we can take our learning into the future. We will use the balances for osmosis experiments in biology as well as endothermic reactions in chemistry. As I take my students beyond and convince them that they are scientists, I need to be able to back them with proper, modern equipment.

Electronic balances are crucial to our middle school science explorations.

For example, when we make gum, we need to be able to measure out very small amounts of our ingredients. . Of course, science is like baking, and if the measurements are off, the cake doesn't work.
