This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Arts Programs at our school extend social and emotional development aligned with our mission. It is our intent to provide meaningful exposure to our scholars. Our programs empower and challenge scholars to grow outside of the traditional classroom setting. Our school provides students an opportunity to study the performing arts at an advanced level while attending a college preparatory school.
Our school exposes all its students to theatre, dance, instrumental, and vocal music to develop well-rounded artists.
Our mission is to provide students with exceptional visual and performing arts skills with a personally supportive and intellectually challenging environment in which to pursue their passions at a level of study that is specifically designed to prepare them for admission to college arts programs. Courses in the arts are intended to foster creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills and an appreciation for all art forms. As scholars improve visual art, dramatic and musical skills, scholars will also investigate art from a historical and cultural viewpoint.
We have produced 7 full-length musicals, a full-length play, developed its own Shakespeare Series, curated a dance showcase, and debuted on Broadway with Circle in the Square Theatre. Our newest goal is to enhance our auditorium to allow for more extravagant performance with exceptional sound. We are curating a full sound and light booth to ensure that all performances are top-notch and a reflection of the quality our program.
