My students need an Electricity kit to learn about science in their own lives. All four 5th grades will be able to use it.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love to learn and especially enjoy "hands on" learning, where they can work with their peers. For my ELL students and all my students, the manipulatives help them to understand the concepts by seeing them in science.
My students are energetic, kind, smart and wonderful children.
They come to school everyday for structure and knowledge. They don't have much money, but they have huge hearts and brains! They love science and are excited to begin our science rotations. The students here come from low socio-economic backgrounds, so they don't often have the opportunity to use hand on materials to learn new skills. These kits will be greatly appreciated and used.
My Project
The 5th graders rotate between the four 5th grade teachers for content integration at our school. The resources will be used to teach all the 5th graders how electricity works and surrounds us in our world. As soon as the kit arrives, it will be implemented in our program for the most learning possible.
Our school is a great place, but the resources are limited due to budgets and socio-economic status.
With this kit, the students will experience real-world science experiments, instead of reading from a book, so they can truly understand how it all works.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
