This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
How many fourth graders does it take to light a light bulb? Please help our class explore this challenge!
Our school is located in a middle class suburban neighborhood.
The families are actively involved in their children's education. Our staff is dedicated to providing educational experiences beyond the textbook approach. The school community takes pride in creating meaningful instructional opportunities for our students. Students are highly motivated and curious, and we work hard to ensure that we meet their thirst for exciting learning challenges.
My Project
The requested materials will allow my students to have hands-on experiences with wires, bulbs, batteries, switches, and more. Our class will also use the materials to help understand electrical concepts such as parallel and series circuits. A set of books about electricity has also been requested to provide follow-up reading activities.
Fourth graders exploring electrical circuits for the first time is an awesome sight!
The light bulb really does "turn on", and it's accompanied with gasps of student excitement and awe.
