Help me give my students an electric keyboard to strengthen rehearsals and performances, enhance creativity through composition and improvisation, and provide essential modeling for pitch, rhythm, and music theory.
My students are an enthusiastic group of musicians who love to perform and their share music. Each morning, they arrive early to gather to practice, share favorite pieces, and teach one another new songs they’ve discovered. Their passion is self-driven and collaborative, and it’s this spirit of curiosity and community that makes them truly special. They’re not just learning music. They’re building relationships, confidence, and a lifelong love for the arts.
An electric keyboard will strengthen students’ understanding of music by providing hands-on experiences that deepen their study of music.
I want to provide opportunities for students to explore music theory through hands-on practice, to compose and improvise with confidence, and to perform a wide range of repertoire that challenges and inspires them. I also aim to support extracurricular ensembles like Jazz Band, where students can expand their musical horizons and take pride in their contributions to the school community.
Adding an electric keyboard to our classroom will give students access to an essential instrument that supports both individual learning and group performance. With it, they’ll be able to explore new sounds, deepen their understanding of music theory, and engage in creative composition and improvisation. I’ll be able to use the keyboard to model pitch, rhythm, and harmony more effectively. Finally, the keyboard will allow us to perform music we’ve previously had to skip, pieces with piano or synthesizer parts, and open the door to genres and experiences that will enrich our students’ musical journey.
