ELA Interactive Notebooks to Enhance Learning and Engagement
Help me give my students the materials they need to have engaging interactive notebooks. Interactive notebooks help scaffold material and provide a stronger study resource than loose papers, messy binders, or digital resources.

My Project
I bet in science class you used an interactive notebook at one point, and it was probably a fun and creative source of notes and work! I want to bring this element into ELA. English can get stagnant for some learners. Sitting, reading, answering questions can feel pretty boring sometimes. Students are also missing a lot of scaffolding required to understanding reading and writing at a base level when they get to 9th grade.
Interactive notebooks incorporate kinesthetic learning through cutting and pasting, which has been proven to increase learning retention.
I hope to help students feel more engaged in their learning and take agency over their notes and quality of study materials through interactive notebooks.
