My Students

When my students come into my classroom, I do not see kids who come from a diverse population. I see children who have hopes and dreams and plans for their future. I see inquisitive minds that need that extra push to be successful. I see Jacksonville’s future within my four walls. It is my job as an educator to help guide them down their path in life. I want to provide everything I can to ensure that they are successful.

My Project

These students are coming into my classroom with minimal supplies. I want to help make my students projects and assignments as colorful as they are! I want them to be proud of their work. When we do writing assignments many students want to illustrate (and are fabulous artists) and do not have proper supplies to do so. I also have students that English is their second language and can only communicate their thoughts through drawing/coloring and I would like to support them and show that their ideas and thoughts are just as valid as their peer who is using written words. The art supplies will help bring their visions to life and give them something to be proud of! The items such as brainbox and timer will help us stay on task and to also have fun when we have some time to spare! The mobile organizer will ensure that items can be easily moved around as needed!

The materials donated will help these students create projects and pictures to go with the lesson they are learning to create a deeper knowledge and personal connection with the content.
