My Project
Hatching chickens in the classroom has many educational outcomes. Having eggs in an incubator in our classroom teaches students to take data, practice patience, and ask questions. Reading the stories that go along with the chick process help us to understand that living things grow differently than us and teach us what these animals need to grow and survive. Hatching chicks and observing them in our classroom will help students learn to care for living things and to nurture animals to help them happily grow. We also learn about the science life cycle of a chicken and get to see many of the steps first hand. Seeing scientific steps first hand helps young students to grasp the concept and learn more meaningfully.
