My Project
I am requesting funding for a chicken hatching kit, including an incubator, fertilized eggs, a brooder, heat lamp, and necessary supplies to care for the chicks. This project will allow my students to witness the life cycle of a chicken from egg to hatchling while learning about responsibility, observation skills, and the science of life cycles.
Throughout the project, students will track egg development, monitor temperature and humidity levels, and record their observations in science journals.
Once the chicks hatch, they will learn how to properly care for them, reinforcing lessons about empathy and responsibility.
This hands-on experience will make science come alive in a way that textbooks cannot. It will also help foster a deeper appreciation for nature, life cycles, and the importance of caring for living things. For many students, this may be their first experience witnessing an animal’s birth, making it an unforgettable and impactful learning opportunity.
My Students
My students are curious, hands-on learners who thrive when engaging with the world around them. They love exploring science through real-world experiences and benefit greatly from interactive, sensory-based learning. Many of my students have limited opportunities to experience life cycles firsthand, and I want to bring this exciting, memorable learning experience into our classroom.
