This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project will give our young learners the opportunity to observe the life cycle of a chick firsthand, fostering curiosity, responsibility, and a love for nature. Through hands-on engagement, students will not only observe but also actively participate in the process by carefully monitoring the incubator, learning about temperature and humidity control, and eagerly awaiting the moment the chicks hatch. They will gain a deeper understanding of animal care, the importance of patience, and the delicate balance needed to sustain life.
These materials will provide a safe and nurturing environment for the eggs and newly hatched chicks, allowing our students to witness the incredible process of life in real time.
As they care for the chicks after hatching—ensuring they have warmth, food, and water—students will develop a sense of responsibility and empathy. This experience will create lasting memories while reinforcing key early learning concepts in science, observation, and life skills.
