Help me give my students a real life experiences of life cycles in my classroom by hatching chicks, growing plants, and caterpillars become butterflies.
This project will provide hands on life cycle experiences in our classroom. Many of my students spent the early years of their lives in their homes with only their families due to COVID-19. Due to this they missed out on many typical family outings to the zoo, museums, etc. as well as pre-school enrollment. The lack of these experiences have left gaps in my students background knowledge, vocabulary, and social skills. These supplies will allow them see the life-cycle first hand, take care of the baby chicks, play chicken theme games to build social skills, and apply their new knowledge to the world around them through comparison activities of other life-cycles.
