My students are creative, dedicated and hands-on learners. They absolutely love anything that involves active engagement, mysteries or challenges that allows them to think outside the box and dive deeper into ideas. They come to school knowing they are supported and eager to see what we do next! My students are so inspiring and motivate me everyday to be the best I can be for them!
Many of my students get overwhelmed with all of the paper buildup they get in middle school.
My students often ask me how they can have less papers to keep track of. Each one of my students show their individual love for learning everyday in their own unique way. They love the freedom of being able to express their learning in many ways.
My Project
Dry erase pockets allow for students to write, erase and retry work without any hassle. Sixth graders can get overwhelmed with all of the papers to keep track of and on top of that, papers are easily lost or ripped before they can even get to turn them in! A student said to me, "Mrs. C, all of these papers make me sad for the trees that made them." That comment hit home to me that I don't have to have all of these papers to allow students to work. I thought about how I could help solve this problem. This is when I discovered dry erase pockets! My students love the few I have and use them whenever they get the chance. Unfortunately, I only have a handful that I purchased, so it's a struggle to have students use them at one time. Not only would the dry erase pockets help cut out paper waste, it will allow my students to engage at a deeper level, share their work with me with their own style and be used for several teaching and learning strategies in my math classroom. We need a lot of practice of our skills in math. This will allow my students to get more efficient practice.
My school is a very innovative and student-centered school.
We are lucky to have 1 : 1 iPads for all of our students. If we have the dry erase pockets for students, they can do their work with them and take a picture to immediately submit to me. I am also asking for fine tip expo markers. These are the best markers to use when writing mathematical expressions. The students can write clear and create vivid diagrams! I hope to provide a stronger learning environment for each student!
