Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second graders love to read and to be read to. They have an amazing capacity to remember the smallest details of their favorite stories. However, my second graders love order and safety. I hope to be able to give them that order with at-my-seat-sack storage to organize their favorite books.

My students are second graders attending a school located in a low socioeconomic area in Los Angeles.

They are in a dual language class in which they are learning two languages at the same time. There are 12 boys and 11 girls between the ages of 7 and 8. My students are full of energy and are eager to learn new concepts every day. Because of economic hardship many of their parents have two jobs to be able to support their family, leaving no time to spend with their children and read .

My Project

Getting students organized in the classroom is extremely important. It provides quality learning and a sense of security to students. This is why I'm asking for you help, to get my students the at- my-seat sacks. With the at-my-seat sacks my students will be able to stay organized, as well as remind them about how to behave, how to conduct their daily business, and how to be effective without discord in a group. With the seat storage sacks my students will be able to learn about respect for others, consideration, efficiency, pride of accomplishment, security in knowing what, how, when, and where to do something. They will be able to accomplish all these positive elements and characteristics of students who learn in well-organized classrooms with the storage sacks. With their books and materials easily accessible at their seats their learning time will be maximize. Providing them with more time to read their favorite stories.

Children like a predictable, safe, and orderly environment and they like going to a classroom that provides that environment.

I truly believe the at- my- seat sacks will provide this environment. With your donations my students will have easy access to their materials that they use frequently with no delays. With the at-my-seat sack my students will maximize their learning time and help the learn to be more efficient.
