My Students
My students are wonderful and creative kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community, other than the occasional vacations and travel to the beaches around us or to Charlotte.
Many of my students don't have the ability to learn online, nor do they have the options to access books and other instructional materials as needed.
Many depend on worksheet packets and whatever books they have at home. Despite the hardships they are facing with school being closed, they are eager learners and are continuing to show leadership in their own learning.
My Project
No pandemic is going to stop me from teaching my students and helping them gain the knowledge they will need to be successful. My kiddos were learning how to read more difficult texts, write more complete sentences, and do groupings in math before school closures. Now my dining room is my classroom. Therefore, it is very important that I have the resources to help them grasp the concepts and skills they need to succeed in the next school year.
By providing the adjustable laptop stand, you will help me elevate my laptop when I'm in a Google Meet with my students.
This will help my kids to better see the instructional information being used from my wall. I can also use the stand and STEM materials together to help my students see the different dimensions of the maze, rather than just a flat level of the multi-dimensional maze. Once school returns (and possibly before) I can use the small group reading books to elevate our read alouds and at home reading lessons.
