My students need multi-colored folders to be organized and effective managers of school work and daily school related tasks.

My Students
As many adults know it is hard for a young mind to stay focused or remember to take homework home for the day. In the past my students have misplaced classwork or somehow lost their homework on the way home. Pocket folders will help my students stay focused and organized.
My students live within a large city located in Maryland and walk to and from school daily.
Some students do not have backpacks or any type of bag to safely carry school work or to keep papers organized, many students carry papers by hand. On windy days teachers can see homework and papers flying away in the breeze, sometimes never to be seen again.
My Project
With the multicolored pocket folders I will be able to teach students how to organize important paperwork. Many letters to parents and homework will no longer fly away in the wind. These important papers will reach the students' homes and parents will also be more informed about what is happening in the classroom. Once students begin to organize paperwork and realize how effective it can be maybe the behavior will spill over into another aspect of their lives at home.
These pocket folders will make an impact in the lives of these students.
They will help to ensure that parents receive messages from the teacher and the school. The pocket folders will also help to ensure homework gets home and back to school. Homework is a tool which reinforces what was learned in school. The extra help and practice from homework will help these students achieve during their third grade year.
