My students need books to help enhance not only their reading but interest and enthusiasm in our classroom library. They also need hands-on learning with magnets and marbles for our discovery center that will keep them engaged.
My students bring something fun and exciting to school with them each and every day. Even though each of their needs are very different, all of my students have a love for learning.
My students are exceptional and unique.
They are great kids who deserve to have these learning experiences. They are interested in so many opportunities to learn in many different ways and best of all they are excited about it! My students take great interest when the environment around them is engaging and exciting. This is the environment I am trying to build in my classroom to promote learning and positive behavior.
My Project
I am requesting books that would be used in our classroom every year. I want my students to be interested in the stories I read daily to spark their learning. These are books I have previously borrowed that my students have fallen in love with. I've included favorites like "I Want My Hat Back" and "This is Not My Hat." Reading out loud to the students daily allows them to understand books, an author and illustrator's job, and gives them different ways to figure out what a story is trying to tell us. Books are always a good way to get a child thinking, imagining, and learning all while having fun! They will have the opportunity to hear sounds of letters, words, rhymes and patterns. All through these wonderful read aloud books THEY have chosen and have fallen in love with!
My students need to have many opportunities to hear lots of stories and participate in hands on activities to create a positive and exciting learning environment.
I am also requesting hands-on manipulatives for my discovery center, including magnets and marbles. As a new teacher, I personally do not have many manipulatives for students to use at this important center. Young students do not get these experiences in everyday life to problem solve and figure out, so that's exactly what the tools I am requesting will do for these children! They will provide amazing learning experiences where they are able to discover different ways agents work. This is something that they have not experienced before and I want to be able to provide this valuable learning to them with your help!
