Edward T. Steel Elementary's Basketball Team

Help me give my students the supplies they need to play basketball against other schools in the school district!

My Project

ETS Elementary has our first-ever basketball team! We know that sports can help kids by promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and a safe after-school space. Our Steel Parliament team also encourages higher student attendance, promotes focusing on classwork, and provides social-emotional support to our students.

We're excited to be a part of the process of getting certified to play in the School District of Philadelphia so that our students can play against other elementary schools in the city, but need to get our gym ready with some upgrades like paint and epoxying part of our floor.

The materials (paint, roller kits, paintbrushes, clear epoxy) from this DonorsChoose project will go towards the kids painting a mural to get our gym looking nice before we play in our School District league. The mural the student has chosen is "Famous Philadelphia Athletes."
