This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year, I am teaching reading and writing to fourth grade students at a Title I campus in Texas. Our student population consists of a variety of backgrounds and 95% of them receive free or reduced lunch.

As we all know, many students need different "tools" to help them be successful in the classroom.

I have many students who have a hard time sitting still while reading and writing. The wobble stools and the cushions will help those that need to move while reading do so, while still focusing on their books. I also have students who get very distracted during testing, and even reading, in the classroom from the door opening to the teacher talking with a small group of students at the front of the room. These items will help my students stay focused on their task at hand and be successful learners.
