Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a middle school Math teacher at a Title 1 school. This upcoming school year will be a new and challenging experience for teachers and students alike. We have new teaching standards, textbooks, and computer-based assessments. My students are a combination of 7th and 8th graders who will be taking Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, or Geometry. Computers are an essential tool for these subjects when it comes to independent practice and assessments, especially with our new (strictly online) progress monitoring assessments.
Many of my students do not have adequate access to computers at home so sometimes have to rely on school time and equipment to get assignments done.
With the laptops I am requesting, I can provide additional devices for students to be able to participate in the various online programs utilized during instruction and testing. This would be an immense help and benefit. My students and I would greatly appreciate your donation.
