Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title 1 school located in the Cole neighborhood with 98% of students eligible to receive free or reduced lunch. Our student population is made up of black and Latino students, with 50% of students being English Learners.

Our scholars deserve the best, and need authentic learning experiences!

Many of our scholars live within a few blocks from school, and never get the chance to venture out. Without our class trips, many will not get the chance to have real world learning experiences.

My Project

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) offers a unique learning experience that includes hands on learning which ties directly into what their learning in the classroom. Scholars will have the chance to authentically learn the Math concepts.

The majority of our scholars do not have the means to have the opportunity get learning experiences outside of the classroom.

Not only will they have the educational piece, but the trip also provides a physical fitness portion.

Our class trip to Skate City provides a hands on educational piece, instructed by trained leader. All lessons meet the Colorado State Education Standards. The lesson is followed with a physical fitness and community building piece. Our families enjoy chaperoning and being apart of their child's journey.
