This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Helping our little scientist to answer under-the-surface questions about science.
My classroom is filled with the future, bright 4 and 5 year old children that come to school eager to discover something new about the world around them.
As a pre-school teacher, it amazes me how each child grows individually. Our school is located in a low income area; there are many families that can not teach their children about science and nature. Understanding science helps students appreciate and relate to the world around them. Science tools can expose the children to various educational criteria.
My Project
Pre-school is the perfect time to get children involved in science when they are naturally interested. Science education fuels that curiosity and provides children with important ideas and skills. Without science we would not be able to predict the weather or earthquakes, cure illnesses and take care of the sick, or have many of the products that improve our lifestyles today. For example, a step-by-step learning path will consists of observing creatures, watching plants grow, viewing separation of liquids such as buoyancy and water currents, learning about the body, and geological observations. This would allow the children to have their under-the-surface questions answered such as Why? How? Should? Would? Could? What If? A science area offers children different ways to improve their social, emotional, and cognitive skills that will relate to the world around them. The science area will be a useful tool to reinforce daily lessons.
Pre-school children need to be exposed to science everyday in order to be prepared for the impacts of science on their lives.
These tools will provide my students with hands on science experience
