Help me give my students a class set of "Stamped" - a young people's history of racism in America, Anti-Racist workbooks, and a classroom copy of Lies My Teacher Told Me.
With a textbook over ten years old, I am looking for different, more current ways to teach about Civil Rights and found this book to be a change maker. Students in my US History classroom have a genuine thirst for knowledge and strive to be successful in every aspect of their academic lives. They are always asking intelligent and thought-provoking questions. I hope that through this project, I can open their eyes to the diverse history of our country and introduce them to new perspectives otherwise absent from their education.
A class set of these books will enable me to give an engaging and diverse perspective on the issues of race and racism in America to my students.
