This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us speak and write properly! My students have a difficult time understanding the English language.
My students are in the third grade in an inner city school in New York City.
Most of my students come from either shelters or single parent homes. Unfortunately many of their parents don't have a good education supporting them. Despite their home life, most of the children come to school eager to learn.
My Project
These grammar and spelling books will help my students immensely. The children will be able to practice writing and speaking properly through daily practice examples. It will also reinforce what is being taught in class. Unfortunately, many of their parents don't speak correct English, so these books will help my students practice at home as well. They will also be a reference tool that can be used to help with homework.
Without speaking and writing proper English, it is very hard to succeed in life.
The English language is a hard language to grasp especially when most people in your neighborhood don't speak it properly. Your donation will have an impact that will affect my students' learning for years to come.
