My students need two laptops to take Accelerated Reader tests and complete research projects.

My Students

A high percentage of our students are children from low-income families and over 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunch. This means that they come in without the prior technology background. Often times, school is the only place they can use a technology device.

Learning is their top priority!

My students come in everyday ready and motivated to learn. I want to make sure that they have everything that they need to achieve in a technologically advanced society.

My Project

The two laptops will require my students access to take Accelerated Reader test each day to reach their quarterly goals, visit websites for enhancement of Reading and Math skills, and to collaborate and access email.

The laptops will also give students access to online research for projects at their fingertips.

In third grade, students will be introduced to completing research projects in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies and will need a laptop to search for information.

Unlike when using a tablet, my students can utilize the laptops to improve their typing ability for the ACT Aspire using the keyboard.
