This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
How will students learn to appreciate the world around them unless they are given the opportunity to experience it? Our world is made up of a variety of animals and if brought into the classroom, students can learn about ecosystems, biomes, and ecology.
My students are from a Title I school and funding is limited for the population of students that we have.
Outside funding sources are necessary to ensure that each student has the same opportunities. My students excel if I as the educator can provide tangible examples, ones that they can see.
My Project
I would like to bring several different species of animals into my classroom this academic year. My class will be studying ecosystems and biomes. By creating small ecosystems in the classroom the students will have real life examples of how ecosystems function.
By donating the required aquarium kit requested, my students will have the opportunity to actually see how animals interact in their environments and how plants and animals help to create balanced environments.
