My Students
Help me create awareness at a very young age regarding environmental protection and conservation by going green in the classroom. One of the best ways to teach the importance of nature is to buy eco-friendly and teach the kids why. The toys are fun and cause less damage to the environment long run.
I work with the most amazing young children age two to five-years-old in an early childhood special education classroom.
My special needs students cannot be defined by their diagnosed disabilities. By integrating the latest eco-friendly, educational toys into the curriculum I can see where my students strengths lie. This allows me to meet my students in a place of pride and respect and begin remediation in their areas of need.
My Project
There is a growing body of research that shows a link between play and the development of cognitive and social skills that are prerequisites for learning more complex concepts as children get older. That's why I am asking for the book, "Learn and Play the Green Way" and these amazing eco-friendly toys like the trucks and dishes that will enhance their experience in the dramatic play center, the Friendly Beehive and Peg Boards will teach them fine motor and organizational skills, and Learn, Number and Count and the snail tape measure for the math/science center.
Eco-friendly toys are environmentally safe, because the materials used to create the toys are natural, biodegradable and also recyclable.
Help me establish a creative, green consciousness at the earliest educational level with my preschool kids.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
