My Project
I love teaching science to high school students! This project consists of an eclectic collection of items that would help supplement various lab activities for several different classes that I teach - sophomore biology through dual credit biology and science research.
I am requesting dichotomous keys, preserved specimens, and other lab equipment.
These items will assist with storage and disposal of research projects and even provide some fun rewards for students! The dichotomous keys will come in handy when we talk about water quality. I have students in my dual credit classes (and other classes if time allows) learn about water quality since water is such a valuable resource. They learn how to chemically test the water but also how to use macro-invertebrates to indirectly determine water quality.
The mini-fridge will help when a small sample is needed to be kept at a cold temperature. When not being used by research, I could always benefit by keeping some cold Dr. Pepper handy!
The preserved specimens will supplement my zoology class.
