Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are grades 6-8 US historians. They are studying World Cultures, Texas History and US History. They are a diverse student body that reflects the diversity of the Houston community.
My students are a melting-pot of diversity from different parts of the world.
All of my students have their own stories to tell and their own histories to share. They have much to learn from one another but also much to teach one another.
My Project
My project is to equip each Social Studies classroom with an Amazon Echo Show 8. This tool provides immediate historical and current information and images upon request from the teacher or students. The Echo Show 8 provides news updates, world events, geographical tools, historical people, places and events in USA, Texas and World History. The technology of Amazon echo will allow Social Studies classrooms to "drop in" and interact together on the screen with another classroom. I have been using a personal Echo Show in my classroom and it has proven to be such a great informational and student interactive tool that I would love to see one in each of our six Social Studies classrooms.
