Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I ask them, "Who is the best first grade class in the whole world?" and they reply, "We are!" I want them to know I believe in them and they can do anything. I want them to know that they are important because they are the future.
I teach at a Title I school in Central California where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My Project
My students needs a healthy snack in the morning before coming to school. It's so important that every student get some kind of breakfast before coming to school. Kids that don't eat breakfast have difficulty concentrating and staying focus in school.
My students also need toothbrushes and toothpaste to prevent cavities and to keep their teeth strong.
Students that have cavities, tooth aches, and other dental problems miss out on school because they need to visit the dentist. Having toothbrushes and toothpastes at their grasp can help eliminate these sorts of problems.
With colder temperatures approaching, my students also need facial tissue to clean their little noses. Germs can spread easily in the classroom and at home so it is important that my students have these at their reach.
