My Students

Students at my middle school are some of the greatest kiddos around. Many of these students come from difficult home-life situations where their parents are unable to help them with homework, where English is spoken at school as a second language, there is not enough money in the family to purchase the essential school supplies necessary for the student's success, and some don't even have breakfast before they come to school. It breaks my heart! Yet, these great kids continue to come to school and give it their best shot every day.

Digital tools such as Wacom Tablets allow my students the much needed access to be able to break down what they DO know in the problem solving process to find what they need to know.

My Project

Ones by Wacom are plug and use digital tablets that allow the user to easily "write" on a computer whether they have a touch screen or not. For my math students, this is an essential part of the learning process..

We show a lot of work, discuss processes, and collaborate as groups, so being able to show the thought processes of working through a math problem is vital to the understanding of students.

Because COVID has complicated our ability to share face to face, digitally shared processes are now the next best thing. We have some Wacom tablets that have definitely created a much more interactive experience in the classroom. We now need just a few more so that every student in class can be using one at the same time.
