EAST Students Equals Service Stars in Our Community

Help me give my students the opportunity to serve their community by creating products and engaging with our community to help at the Touch A Truck event.

My Project

My students are EAST students in grades Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade. They are service originated, which what the "S" in EAST stands for. In EAST the students choose, design, and create the product for the project. The next project the students are wanting to do is one for our community, which is having an event called Touch A Truck where citizens of our community come and learn about the many transportations and services from dump trucks to helicopters to school busses. There is so much to see and learn. My students want to make learning kits to give to the community at this event. The event also raises money for HOPE CIRCLE, which a service to them.

My students learn through service and technology; this project would allow them to not only provide knowledge and serve others, but learn through the project.

Each grade would have a focus area to create something to go into the learning bags. The kindergarten students would use the sticker papers to design and create stickers that go with the theme. First graders would create coloring activity books to give information. The second graders would design and create buttons to go with the Touch A Truck Theme. My students are very special and are out of the box thinkers who want to help their community through service. With your help my goal of giving the students materials to serve their community through getting involved and working as a team to design and create helpful information and serve others.
