This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My project is to help build reading skills and aid in sensory issues with my students. My students are very loving and caring. We continually say in our classroom that we are a family, and we love and help each other. I serve many special needs and ELL students in my class that feel they are different. Most of my students are two grade levels behind in skills. I want them to know they can achieve anything in life when they set their minds to it. These kids are very loving and special to me and deserve the best. They look forward to me challenging them to stretch their thinking capacity and becoming successful readers regardless of their written limitations. My students can benefit from the reading material and sensory tools for reading to help with maneuvering and maximizing their learning capabilities and building fluency. My classroom is comprised of students that are new to this country as well as to the public school system and it’s my belief that no matter what all students can learn at their level best with great support.
