My Students
My students are energetic and eager learners who love to read and strive every day to achieve academic success.
Our Title I school is located in Brooklyn's East New York and is considered high poverty with all students qualifying for free lunch.
Budgets being what they are, classroom supplies such as technology and hands-on materials are very limited.
My new 3rd grade hybrid class consists of general education, ELL, and students with IEPs, who all come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
This year my goal is to better prepare my third graders for independent learning and personal responsibility as we now work remotely. Having the right supplies and tools is critical to my success to reach my children no matter how far away they are.
My Project
Remote learning is continuing to prove difficult because I need more teaching resources that are like those found in my school classroom. My students are a mix of learning styles and abilities and my lessons depend on visual prompts to learn language, as well as reading, writing, math, and science content.
I'm requesting a Magnetic Write Wipe Adjustable Easel and a Double-sided Write Wipe Magnetic Easel that will be used to support my remote instruction.
Having these whiteboard easels will ensure that I can better instruct and prompt students during my live real-time MEET lessons on Google Classroom.
