This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students live in the middle of the city, in an industrial district. Our high poverty, Title I school is hidden behind many manufacturing buildings and has very few places for the students to run and play. 100% of the students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch each day.
We are a STEM Magnet School, with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Science.
We are creating an environment that encourages unique learning, creativity, independence, and cooperative learning.
My Project
The easel has many uses in a classroom. As a class, we will be using the easel for morning messages. Students will be able to learn about the plans for the day, participate in writing, and share about their weekends.
The easel will provide an easy way to create the anchor charts with student participation.
Our new literacy curriculum requires us to create anchor charts with students to learn about different stations in the classroom, as well as writing, grammar, social studies, etc. The anchor charts will be posted around the classroom after they have been completed for future use.
Students will also get to use the easel to draw, write, play "teacher," and make other creations.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
