My students need an easel for math, reading big books, for interactive and shared writing, for phonics instruction, and for storage of word work materials.

My Students
Just this week my students and I sat around a pad of chart paper on the floor with staplers holding down the corners to stretch it flat, "Like rocks on a beach blanket," they likened, no joke. We used to have an easel, but the leg broke and maintenance glumly reported, "It's beyond repair!" Ugh!
My second grade students are very appreciative of little things, small gestures, a smile, a hug, but they don't necessarily know what it's like to have the finer things in life.
We attend a small neighborhood school with only five classrooms grades 1-3, in a low-income rural community. The students and their families are the heart of our school and truly make it a great place to be.
My Project
We would sincerely appreciate an easel to help us do math, read, write, and do word work together in our second grade classroom. If we had one, it would be used throughout each and every school day. We have found an easel that will help us organize and increase the life span of our materials; one that will save time and space.
In appreciation of our potential donors, we shopped very carefully, keeping in mind price, quality, and versatility.
It's our opinion that we can't find a better easel out there for this money. This easel that we are requesting has been built for magnetic letters, chart paper, big books, and has storage and wheels. We could use this to increase our comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and vocabulary. Its sturdy construction ensures that children for years to come will benefit by its use. We thank you!
