This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I recently started working in a dual immersion program with 2 classes of 1st grade students who are eager to learn to read and improve their writing and math skills. I work with these classes daily to support their growth in English and Mathematics.

My Project

A classroom easel will help my 1st grade students focus and engage with big books, phonics lessons and math lessons by creating a focal point and interactive workspace.

Shared writing and reading are one of the cornerstones in my efforts to engage my students whole group and in small groups after a year of virtual learning.

An easel will be used for our daily work together in reading, writing and math. It will help me to be more effective in my efforts to support their learning and help bridge the gaps that exist from a difficult year of kindergarten.
