Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students walk through the door each morning full of energy, ready to learn, and excited to see what knowledge they will gain for the day. I make sure to come to school ready to match that energy.
I teach at a Title I school in southern California where almost all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Eighty-five percent of the students qualify for a free or reduced-price lunch.
Despite the many associated hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their very best which I expect of each of them. They want to be in school because they want to learn and it's my pleasure to make this happen.
My Project
I want to have access to a rolling easel so I can better serve my small groups. I also want the flexibility of a cart with wheels so I can bring the easel with my around the classroom. The remaining items are for direct use by my students. The dice will help with my mathematical instruction by giving my students the chance to work on math in a more varied form, while the white boards allow for my to track all of my students quickly. This provides me quick access to formative assessments.
