Help me give my students access to an earthquake simulation experience. Students will be able to have hands-on experience constructing buildings and seeing how an earthquake would affect them.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A shake table(s) will provide several opportunities for my students to learn about how earthquakes effect buildings, create conditions for Tsunami's and engage them with hands on experiences.
I hope students will have a memorable experience and in the past I have had students gain interest in construction, architecture as well as earth processes from this project.
My students are enrolled in a semester long "Science of Natural Disasters" course where they will get hands on experience with several disasters. The most important and relatable topic for them (being in California) is earthquakes. Students really enjoy getting to build structures and test them agaisnt earthquake conditions. These materials would add significant improvements to my current lesson which student surveys have shown is their favorite project.
