This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The sturdy scissors will be used to cut the rolled paper used to make the structures. The tape will be used to put together the structures. The triple beam balances will help students get the correct weight to make their damper to counter balance the weight of the building. The protractors will allow students triangulate earthquake data to find the epicenter.

My goal is for the students to use proper terms, apply the scientific method, and engage the students in a hands on project.

I have inclusion classes and students from various backgrounds. Most students come from a low economic areas and very low expectations for themselves. I am hoping to open their minds and hopefully create an atmosphere of success and goal setting through hands on projects.
